What Clients Say About Andrew
~”When I first contemplated bankruptcy, my credit was down the drain, creditors were calling and my finances were a mess. I knew that bankruptcy was my only option and after months of inquiring with other firms, you were referred to me. It was honestly one of the happiest days of my life! I no longer had to worry about what lied ahead because I knew I was in excellent hands. Not only were you knowledgeable and explained everything to me clearly and thoroughly, but you were a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process. Thank you so much for everything you did and in the future if anyone ever needs bankruptcy assistance, I’ll be sure to send them to your office!”
~”Firstly there is the shame of knowing you cannot pay your bills and the constant worry. Then the endless phone calls and mail making your life a misery. If you are in this situation, it is time for a bankruptcy lawyer.
My husband and I were in this situation this year and it was a terrible time for us both. The credit card bills were enormous and the equity in our house non-existent. My husband found Andy Balbus conveniently located of exit 2 on 84 in Danbury and saw him for a free consultation whereby he looked at our fiscal situation and said we were perfect candidates for bankruptcy.
The process started with Andy diligently explaining the process with a sense of humor that you really need at a time like this and he gave us confidence that we could come out of this mess with our dignity in tact. The fear of being helpless is probably the worst feeling about being in such debt and once you have started the process you start to get it back.
Andy was there for every question or concern via email or phone no matter how silly our questions were and again was incredibly thorough with the necessary paper work. Once we were ready to file and our date for court loomed, he made us feel confident about whole scenario and what to expect. However, I think what impressed us most whilst we were waiting for our turn was that after listening to other lawyers and their clients somewhat unprepared for certain questions, how much we valued Andy’s experience and competence. We were finished in about 5 minutes! We can’t explain the relief but promise you will feel it too. The hardest part of the court day was that we forgot which parking lot we had left the car which took longer than anything else!
Since our bankruptcy was discharged this summer, we have been so much happier and although money is still tough for us along with so many others, it has given us our lives back.
We couldn’t recommend the bankruptcy process more and the need for a highly experienced lawyer like Andrew Balbus.”
~”Due to a series of difficult circumstances, we found ourselves deeply in debt, with no light at the end of the tunnel. We always thought that bankruptcy would be the end of the world for us, something we could not consider. We read an article about Attorney Balbus, and it convinced us that it was something we should at least take a look at. The whole process, from start to finish was almost painless. Attorney Balbus was so well organized, and contacted the creditors so quickly, that we never went through a period of being hounded by bill collectors. Our only regret, in the end, was that we hadn’t contacted him sooner. So we went from feeling that bankruptcy would be the “end of the world”, to feeling that it gave us a new beginning.”
~”My husband was laid off from his job in 2009 and this began our down hill fall into debt. No matter how we tried we could not dig ourselves out of debt and the feeling of fear, embarrassment and shame took away all our hope. Filing bankruptcy was a very hard choice for us to make but it was our only option. Andrew restored our hope. His kindness and knowledge helped us through one of the most difficult times of our lives.
~Few months ago my wife and I were in a difficult situation. With no other option we had to decide filing bankruptcy. My wife found Andy Balbus online and we are very happy to choose him. He gave us free consultation , is very professional and nice personality. We highly recommend Balbuslawfirm to anyone.
~”Going through a bankruptcy is not a joke nor is it fun! I don’t believe that anyone who decides to take this step really wants to but it seems there is no alternative. It is embarrassing enough to get into this situation in the first place so the last thing you want is someone who asks you the why or how it happened! The very first step is finding a lawyer who understands. I was fortunate to find our way to Andy Balbus.
Besides explaining the process and the alternatives, he was not judgmental. He is very helpful in the process along the way. There is some paperwork and spreadsheets needed right up to the end and some seemed confusing to me. But Andy was always there for me. He answers his phone – himself! I never had to wait for a return call.
Before this important decision, I thought that I would have a heart attack from the stress. Not to mention the overall effects that my mental state was taking on my wife and family. Bankruptcy might not be that answer for everyone, but it was for me. Starting fresh gave me new life and encouragement to start over. And Andy was our start.”
~”Thank you very much for your support through this process. It was not easy for me to make the decision to file. However, you made the process easier and I am relieved to have a fresh financial start. The word credit card makes me shiver. “
~”For anyone considering bankruptcy I strongly suggest that they contact Andy Balbus. Like most people I did not know what to expect and I feared the unknown. Andy took the fear away. When we went to Court he told me what questions to expect. He even told me where to park my car! “
~”He is the big brother you always wanted- actually, the super-hero you always wanted. With his lightening speed, he led and protected us from the very beginning to the end. We were falling fast into the abyss of financial death, but Mr. Balbus scooped us up and brought us to safe landing place (Happy Debt Discharge!!)
He is definitely not one of those uncaring, lethargic, bureaucratic lawyers. With his incredible energy and positivity, knowledge and intelligence, quick wit and humor, he dispelled all our dark feelings, thoughts and misconceptions about bankruptcy. Meeting Mr. Balbus was one of the most life-transforming event of our lives! Don’t stay in your dark place for another minute. Meet Mr. Balbus now!!”
~Lawyers, can’t live with them and can’t live without them! One truly starts to appreciate that statement as the need for their services comes into our lives. Working on my parents’ estate and health documents made me cringe whenever I had to talk to a lawyer. How much was this conversation going to be costing me, would be running through my mind whenever I had to.
So when we approached Andy in late 2012 in search of a bankruptcy lawyer, that tune played in my head all through our meeting from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, while he reviewed our financial information and answered questions in this office. Some key questions concerning Trustee roles and inheritance were quickly responded to, when other lawyers had to research the information first. At the conclusion of the meeting, Andy informed us of his cost to represent us and told us we would need to pay him on the day when we actually start the bankruptcy paperwork process. He told us to email or call him whenever a question came up in the meantime. I knew there was going to be a lot of emails/calls because I was the Trustee of my parents’ and uncle’s estate and questioned him about any additional cost. He repeated his statement with a slight modification, ‘feel “free” to email or call with any questions.’ My curiosity was peaked, a knowledgeable lawyer with a sense of humor. Fast forward a year, with dozens of emails and phone conversations occurring, the dollar amount on the check was the same as he quoted us.
On the actual day of the Meeting of the Creditors, we were 6th in line. Case after case, 15 to 20 minutes a case, lawyer after lawyer, the clients were going to have to return for another meeting because their paperwork was incomplete. Then came our turn, we responded to the Trustee’s questions with Andy piping in whenever necessary. Five minutes later, we were shaking hands with the Trustee and it was over. Sixty days later the bankruptcy paperwork arrived in the mail.
Well, now comes the house foreclosure process, all part of our original plan. I’m still sending Andy emails and he is still advising. That tune of the cost isn’t running through my mind anymore, at least not with Andy! He truly knows his trade and how to make this very difficult psychological time flow easier for us. The only thing I regret is not having spoken to Andy a few years earlier. He convinced us to put the plan in place when our accountant could not.
Thank you Andy for being there!
